**TL;DR:** Roadmark is the operating system for freight: a connected platform for carriers, brokers and groups, bringing together transportation management, driver work, portals, financial workflows and governed AI. From $499 USD/month with unlimited users. Start with one workflow beside your current TMS and expand when you are ready. Compare the workflows, integrations and implementation scope that matter to your operation.

## Why teams look beyond McLeod

The reasons that come up most, from reviews and the vendors' own materials. Not every one applies to every team.

- Cost. McLeod doesn't publish prices, so teams comparing options ask for a quote on their own scope and set it against vendors that publish theirs.
- Ease of use and training. Teams weighing a move want to know how quickly new dispatchers and brokers learn a system; ask every vendor, McLeod included, for a trial on your own loads.
- Scope. McLeod describes its customers as truckload and LTL carriers, brokerages and 3PLs, and private fleets. Teams adding drayage, intermodal, air or ocean, or running several companies on different systems, want to see how each option handles that.
- AI. McLeod has been adding AI: MPact.RespondAI, generally available since June 1, 2025, reads and prioritizes inbound messages, drafts replies and helps with quotes and orders, and Version 26.2 (August 2026) reads several orders from one email. McLeod plans an AI assistant for Q4 2026 and an MCP server for Q2 2027. Some teams are deciding whether McLeod's own modules cover the job, or whether to add a tool beside it.

## The options, and who each one fits.

In no order of merit, with no scores. Each option says who it fits and who it doesn't, from the vendor's own materials.

### [Stay on McLeod and add tools beside it](https://www.mcleodsoftware.com/)

Keep LoadMaster or PowerBroker as the system of record, and add McLeod's own modules, such as MPact.RespondAI for inbound email, quoting and order creation, or a separate tool for the one job that takes the most time.

**A good fit if:**

- Dispatch, settlements and accounting work in McLeod, and the problem is one job, such as quoting from the inbox or customer updates.
- Your team is trained on McLeod and a full migration isn't worth the disruption right now.
- You'd rather take AI from McLeod itself, such as MPact.RespondAI, than add a second vendor.

**Not a fit if:**

- The problem is the system itself, such as cost, the interface or training. A tool beside it won't change that.
- You want one system: a tool from another vendor means another contract and another connection to look after.

### [Rose Rocket](https://www.roserocket.com/)

A cloud TMS for carriers, brokers and 3PLs, founded in 2015 and now sold as an AI-native platform with built-in agents: TED turns shipment emails into records, Rosie answers questions about a load and Rocky builds workflows and takes on tasks.

**A good fit if:**

- You run a mix of truckload and LTL, or trucks and brokerage, and want it in one system.
- You want a published starting price with no per-seat fees: Rose Rocket lists its platform from $2,080 a month with unlimited users; its pricing page doesn't name a currency. Other prices on this page are in US dollars.
- You want a fixed timeline: its pricing page promises go-live within 90 days on the main plan.

**Not a fit if:**

- Your budget is below the $2,080-a-month starting price.
- You run several legal companies and need separate books in one system: we didn't find how it handles that in Rose Rocket's public materials, so ask.

### [Alvys](https://alvys.com/)

A cloud TMS for carriers, brokers and hybrid carrier-broker operations, priced by load volume, with its own platform for AI agents inside the TMS (Alvys Foundry).

**A good fit if:**

- You run trucks and broker freight from the same desks: Alvys switches between carrier and broker work under one login.
- You want no per-user fees, implementation included and month-to-month terms: Alvys prices by load volume and lets you cancel anytime.
- You have a few subsidiaries: its plans include one, three or unlimited subsidiaries, depending on the tier.

**Not a fit if:**

- You want to see a price before talking to sales: every plan is quoted on your load volume.
- You want to keep McLeod for dispatch: Alvys describes itself as an all-in-one operating system, built to be your main system rather than a tool beside McLeod.

### [Roadmark](https://roadmark.ai/tms) (Our product)

Roadmark is the operating system for freight: a connected platform for carriers, brokers and groups, bringing together transportation management, driver work, portals, financial workflows and governed AI. Roadmark starts from $499 USD/month with unlimited users. Start with one workflow beside your current TMS and confirm the setup and price with our team.

**A good fit if:**

- Start with quoting, tracking or another workflow beside your current TMS, then expand when you are ready.
- Bring your whole team into Roadmark with unlimited users and no per-user fees.
- Connect carriers, brokerage and multiple companies while keeping their records and access separate.
- Use AI to prepare quotes, plans and invoices, with approvals and autonomy controlled by your team.

### [Descartes Aljex](https://www.aljex.com/)

A cloud-based TMS for freight brokers and 3PLs, part of Descartes Systems Group, covering order entry and dispatch, carrier management, lane pricing, accounting, EDI and tracking through Descartes MacroPoint.

**A good fit if:**

- You're a brokerage on PowerBroker and want a broker-focused cloud system with the back office included.
- You want tracking from the same vendor: Aljex integrates with Descartes MacroPoint, from the same parent, for real-time alerts and visibility.
- You want published prices: plans start at $699 a month with five users, and Professional starts at $999 a month with 15 users.

**Not a fit if:**

- You mainly run your own trucks: Descartes describes Aljex as a TMS for freight brokers and 3PLs, so look at carrier-first options for dispatch and driver pay.
- You want to add people without adding cost: Essential includes five users and Professional 15, so ask how many users Enterprise, from $2,375 a month, includes.

### [Revenova](https://revenova.com/)

A TMS built within Salesforce for brokers, 3PLs, carriers and shippers, so customer and load data live in one place, with its own AI (Artimus) that builds loads from customer emails and answers quote requests.

**A good fit if:**

- Your brokerage already runs sales on Salesforce and wants the TMS in the same place, with no sync between CRM and operations.
- You want loads built from customer emails and quote requests answered from your stored rates, with lane pricing (LaneIQ, RateIQ) on the same data.

**Not a fit if:**

- You don't use Salesforce and don't want to take it on: Revenova is built within the Salesforce ecosystem.

## How to choose.

Questions to answer before you talk to any vendor, us included.

- Is the problem the whole system, or one job? If it's one job, compare McLeod's own modules and tools that work beside McLeod before you compare replacements.
- Are you a carrier, a broker or both? Carrier-first, broker-first and hybrid systems handle dispatch, driver pay and carrier cover differently.
- How many companies, and on which systems? Ask each vendor how separate companies keep separate books, and whether a company can join on the system it already runs.
- What will it cost at your volume? Per-user, per-load and per-job pricing come out very differently for the same business, so price your own numbers, setup fees and contract length included.
- How long until it's live, and what happens meanwhile? Ask for the go-live plan, who imports your data, and whether you'll run two systems during the move.
- Can you get your data out? Ask how your history is exported, and whether your McLeod history stays readable after you move.

## Start with how much you want to change

The first decision isn't which product; it's how much you want to change. A
replacement moves dispatch, billing, settlements and your history to a new
system in one project. Working beside McLeod keeps it as the system of record
and changes one job at a time, so dispatch doesn't move until you choose.

Both are reasonable. If your reasons for leaving are cost, the interface or
support, a tool beside McLeod won't fix them and a replacement is the honest
answer. If McLeod works and one job takes too much typing, a replacement is a
lot of project for one problem. Our [switching guide](https://roadmark.ai/switching) shows what
running beside McLeod looks like, and the [TMS comparison](https://roadmark.ai/tms#compare)
sets older systems against AI add-on tools.

## If you're a carrier on LoadMaster

Rose Rocket and Alvys are both cloud systems that replace McLeod outright,
with AI built in. Rose Rocket publishes a starting price and a 90-day go-live
promise; Alvys prices by load volume and is built for operations that run
trucks and broker freight together. See [Roadmark vs McLeod](https://roadmark.ai/compare/mcleod),
[Roadmark vs Rose Rocket](https://roadmark.ai/compare/rose-rocket) and
[Roadmark vs Alvys](https://roadmark.ai/compare/alvys) for row-by-row detail.

## If you're a brokerage on PowerBroker

Descartes Aljex is built for freight brokers and 3PLs, with published plans
and tracking through Descartes MacroPoint. Revenova fits a brokerage that
already runs its sales team on Salesforce, because the TMS lives there too.
See [Roadmark vs Aljex](https://roadmark.ai/compare/aljex) and
[Roadmark vs Revenova](https://roadmark.ai/compare/revenova).

## If you run a group of companies

Ask every vendor the same question: can each company keep its own customers,
carriers and books, and can a company you buy join on the system it already
runs? Alvys includes more subsidiaries on its higher plans. Roadmark keeps
each company's books separate in one system and lets a company stay on
McLeod while the rest move; see [Roadmark for groups](https://roadmark.ai/groups).

## What about Turvo?

Turvo is a cloud TMS built around collaboration between shippers, brokers,
3PLs and carriers, and has been owned by Lineage since June 2022. It fits a
shipper looking for a TMS for its own freight, or a 3PL that wants warehouse
appointment scheduling and inventory on the same platform. See
[Roadmark vs Turvo](https://roadmark.ai/compare/turvo).

## How we wrote this

Every alternatives page on this site is written the same way, so you can check it.

- **Their own words:** Facts about other products come from their own sites, press releases and public reviews, listed under Sources.
- **No ranking:** We compare workflows, integrations and published pricing. Roadmark is clearly identified as our product.
- **Staying counts:** Keeping the system you run, with tools beside it, is listed next to the replacements.
- **Dated and corrected:** The review date moves only when every option has been checked again. If something is out of date, tell us.

## Questions about McLeod alternatives

### What is the best alternative to McLeod?

There isn't one for everyone. Carriers and hybrid carrier-broker operations wanting a newer cloud system can look at Rose Rocket or Alvys; brokerages can look at Descartes Aljex, or Revenova if they already run Salesforce. If McLeod still works and one job is the problem, staying on McLeod and adding a tool beside it is usually the smaller change.

### Can we keep McLeod and still use AI?

Yes. McLeod sells its own AI module, MPact.RespondAI, generally available since June 1, 2025, which reads and prioritizes inbound messages, drafts replies and helps with quotes and orders; Version 26.2 (August 2026) extended it to several orders in one email, and McLeod plans an AI assistant for Q4 2026 and an MCP server for Q2 2027. Separate tools can also work beside McLeod: Roadmark, for example, can run quoting or tracking while booked orders still land in McLeod and dispatch stays where it is.

### How long does it take to move off McLeod?

It depends on how much moves at once. Rose Rocket's pricing page promises go-live within 90 days on its main plan. With Roadmark, you can start with one job beside McLeod, and moving the rest over is a company-by-company rollout you control. Ask every vendor who imports your data and how long you'll run two systems.

### Is there a McLeod alternative without per-user fees?

Yes. Rose Rocket lists unlimited users with no per-seat fees, Alvys prices by load volume with no per-user fees, and Roadmark has no per-user fee. Descartes Aljex's Essential plan includes five users and Professional 15; ask how many users Enterprise includes.

### Is Roadmark a McLeod replacement?

It can be, but you'd usually start beside McLeod: one job, usually quoting or tracking, runs in Roadmark while orders still land in McLeod, and the rest moves when you choose, or never. Moving Roadmark in as your TMS is a longer, company-by-company rollout that you control.
