Roadmark vs McLeod: a side-by-side TMS comparison
Roadmark and McLeod's LoadMaster and PowerBroker, row by row: how routine work gets done, AI features, companies, pricing and deployment.
The short answer
Which one fits you?
Roadmark is the better choice if
- You want quotes, truck plans, tracking updates and invoices drafted for a person to approve, with the numbers and the rule behind each draft.
- You'd rather start with one job beside LoadMaster or PowerBroker, such as quoting or tracking, while dispatch and driver settlements stay where they are.
- Your companies run on different systems, and you want group reports across all of them while some stay on their current TMS.
- You want fuel stops planned from ELD tank levels and enforced through fuel cards, and truck and trailer maintenance, in the TMS itself rather than through partner integrations.
- You move freight beyond truckload and LTL, such as rail, air or ocean, and want it on the same load record as your trucks and brokerage.
- Your team wants to ask about loads and lanes from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot today, through MCP.
McLeod Software is the better choice if
- You're staying on LoadMaster or PowerBroker and would rather take AI from McLeod itself, such as MPact.RespondAI for inbox triage, quoting and order creation, than add a second vendor.
- Your other systems, including AI tools such as Augment, Parade or Vooma, already connect through McLeod's certified partner program, and you don't want to rebuild those connections.

Who each one is for
McLeod Software has built trucking software since 1985. It sells separate products by business: LoadMaster for asset carriers, LoadMaster LTL for LTL carriers and PowerBroker for brokers and 3PLs, with DocumentPower for imaging across them. Fuel tax is a McLeod module; maintenance and fuel optimization come through partner integrations.
Roadmark is a TMS with AI agents that price quotes, plan trucks and prepare invoices for your team to approve. It's built for asset carriers, freight brokers and groups of companies, in one product, with IFTA reports, truck and trailer maintenance, and fuel stops planned from ELD tank levels and enforced through fuel cards.
How the daily work differs
In LoadMaster or PowerBroker, a person enters and updates the load. Since 2025, McLeod has added AI on top of that: MPact.RespondAI reads, sorts and prioritizes incoming messages, drafts replies, and helps start quotes and orders. Version 26.1 added MPact.Benchmark, which compares a carrier's performance with peer groups, and version 26.2 extended RespondAI to several orders in one email. At its September 2026 user conference, McLeod said a McLeod Assistant for plain-language questions is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026, with voice agents by the end of the year, and it certifies integrations with AI developers such as Augment, Parade and Vooma.
Roadmark starts from the load record instead. Its agents draft the quote, the truck plan, the tracking update and the invoice, and each draft shows the numbers and the rule it used. A person approves, edits or rejects it. Every agent starts at Draft, and your team decides lane by lane whether one may act on its own. Every screen works without an agent, so a paused agent or a model outage slows the drafting, not the work.
Running Roadmark beside McLeod
You don't have to choose one or the other on day one. Roadmark is built to run beside McLeod, whether you run LoadMaster as a carrier or PowerBroker as a broker: usually quoting or tracking moves first, booked orders still land in McLeod with the stops, rate and references on them, and dispatch, status, stops, POD and costs come back. Dispatch and driver settlements stay in McLeod for as long as you want them there.
If you later move more over, you do it a company, division or lane at a time, and McLeod stays readable for history. The switching page sets out what that asks of you, including a period with two systems. Groups whose companies run different systems can connect each one on its own; see Roadmark for groups.
Price and commitment
Roadmark starts from $499 USD/month with unlimited users. Start with one workflow beside your current TMS and confirm the setup and price with our team. See pricing .
Deployment and connections
McLeod can run on your own servers, in a third-party cloud you choose, or in a cloud service hosted and managed by McLeod, and it lists more than 260 integrations with more than 140 certified partners. Roadmark connects through a public API, webhooks, EDI and an MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot. The integrations directory lists what's connected today, and the TMS page compares Roadmark with older systems in general.

Questions about Roadmark and McLeod Software
Can Roadmark run beside McLeod?
Yes, beside both LoadMaster and PowerBroker. Roadmark sends each booked order to McLeod with the stops, rate and references on it, and reads dispatch, status, stops, POD and costs back. Dispatch and driver settlements keep running in McLeod, and you choose which job, if any, moves next.
How does Roadmark's pricing compare?
Roadmark starts from $499 USD/month with unlimited users. Start with one workflow beside your current TMS and confirm the setup and price with our team. Compare the required workflows, integrations and implementation scope when evaluating other vendors.
Does McLeod have AI features?
Yes. MPact.RespondAI, available since June 2025, reads and prioritizes incoming messages, drafts replies and helps with quoting and order creation. Version 26.1 added MPact.Benchmark, and version 26.2 extended RespondAI to several orders in one email. In September 2026 McLeod said a McLeod Assistant for plain-language questions is targeted for the fourth quarter, voice agents for the end of 2026, and an MCP server for the second quarter of 2027. Roadmark's agents draft the load record itself: the quote, the plan, the tracking update and the invoice.
Do we have to leave McLeod to use Roadmark?
No. You can start with one job, usually quoting or tracking, beside McLeod. You can move a company, division or lane at a time later, or never, and McLeod stays readable for history if you do move.
Some of our companies run McLeod and others don't. Can Roadmark cover all of them?
Yes. Each company connects on its own. One can stay on McLeod while another runs on Roadmark, and group reports include both.
