Roadmark vs Trimble TMW: a side-by-side TMS comparison

Roadmark and Trimble's TMW.Suite, TruckMate and Innovative, row by row: AI features, modes, companies, deployment and pricing.

The short answer

Which one fits you?

Trimble sells several TMS lines, among them TMW.Suite, TruckMate and Innovative, plus a newer cloud-native Trimble TMS, with fuel tax, fuel purchasing and maintenance as separate products. Its AI: Trimble Arc Agent (August 2026) and agent-ready TMS updates (September 2026). Roadmark is one TMS whose agents draft quotes, plans, updates and invoices for a person to approve, with IFTA, maintenance and fuel-stop planning built in, and it can run beside TMW.Suite or TruckMate one job at a time instead of replacing it.

Roadmark is the better choice if

  • You want quotes, truck plans, tracking updates and invoices drafted for a person to approve, with the numbers and the rule behind each draft.
  • You'd rather start with one job beside TMW.Suite or TruckMate, such as quoting or tracking, while dispatch and driver settlements stay where they are.
  • Your companies run on different systems, and you want group reports across all of them while some stay on their current TMS.
  • You move freight beyond trucking, such as air or ocean, and want it on the same load record as your trucks.
  • You want fuel stops planned from ELD tank levels and enforced through fuel cards, truck and trailer maintenance and IFTA reports in the TMS itself, where TMW.Suite and TruckMate use separate Trimble products such as ExpertFuel, TMT Fleet Maintenance and Vusion.

Trimble TMW is the better choice if

  • You already use other Trimble products, such as TMT Fleet Maintenance, PC*Miler or Appian, and want one vendor across them.
  • You're staying on TMW and would rather take AI from Trimble itself, such as Trimble Arc Agent or the agent-ready updates to TMW.Suite, TruckMate and Innovative, than add a second vendor.
  • You deliver fuel: Trimble sells Fuel Dispatch, a TMS built for fuel carriers.

Who each one is for

"TMW" is used loosely for Trimble's TMS lines. TMW.Suite is Trimble's enterprise platform, which it says runs at hundreds of carriers, private fleets, brokers and 3PLs. TruckMate is built for LTL carriers and covers LTL, truckload, intermodal and multimodal freight. Innovative is for mid-market truckload, flatbed, bulk and dedicated carriers and private fleets, run as a cloud service managed by Trimble. The TMW name comes from TMW Systems, which Trimble agreed to buy in 2012 for $335 million; at the time, TMW served more than 2,000 customers. Trimble also sells a newer, cloud-native Trimble TMS, which it describes as built for growing North American truckload carriers. When Trimble unveiled it in November 2025, Transport Topics reported that it expected its TMS customers to move onto it within five to ten years; in September 2026 Trimble announced browser-based, agent-ready updates to TMW.Suite, TruckMate, Innovative and Fuel Dispatch that need no platform migration.

Roadmark is a TMS with AI agents that price quotes, plan trucks and prepare invoices for your team to approve. It's built for asset carriers, freight brokers and groups of companies, in one product, with IFTA reports, truck and trailer maintenance, and fuel stops planned from ELD tank levels and enforced through fuel cards.

How the daily work differs

In a Trimble TMS, a person enters and updates the load, and Trimble has been adding AI to that work. At its Insight conference in November 2025 it announced an Order Intake Agent that enters orders from email and documents, first as a trial on TMW.Suite, along with a Tender Evaluation feature for TMW.Suite. In August 2026 it introduced Trimble Arc Agent, a subscription agent whose skills include order entry and contract intake, which connects to existing TMSs and to Gmail and Outlook, with human-in-the-loop controls. In September 2026 it added an RFQ builder skill and announced updates that bring browser screens, APIs and an MCP layer for agents to TMW.Suite, TruckMate, Innovative and Fuel Dispatch.

Roadmark starts from the load record. Its agents draft the quote, the truck plan, the tracking update and the invoice, and each draft shows the numbers and the rule it used. A person approves, edits or rejects it. Every agent starts at Draft, and your team decides lane by lane whether one may act on its own. Every screen works without an agent.

Running Roadmark beside TMW.Suite or TruckMate

You don't have to replace TMW.Suite or TruckMate to try Roadmark. It's built to run beside either one: usually quoting or tracking moves first, booked orders still land in the Trimble TMS with the stops, rate and references on them, and dispatch, status, stops, POD and costs come back. Dispatch and driver settlements stay there for as long as you want. See the TMW.Suite and TruckMate integration pages for what each connection needs.

If you move more over later, you do it a company, division or lane at a time, and TMW stays readable for history. If you're weighing a move to Trimble's newer cloud-native TMS, that's a natural point to compare both. Groups with companies on different systems can connect each one separately; see Roadmark for groups.

Questions about Roadmark and Trimble TMW

Can Roadmark run beside TMW?

Yes, beside TMW.Suite or TruckMate. Roadmark sends each booked order to it with the stops, rate and references on it, and reads dispatch, status, stops, POD and costs back; with TruckMate, it does this through the TruckMate REST API, which Trimble licenses separately. Dispatch and driver settlements keep running in the Trimble TMS, and you choose which job, if any, moves next.

How does Roadmark's pricing compare?

Roadmark starts from $499 USD/month with unlimited users. Start with one workflow beside your current TMS and confirm the setup and price with our team. Compare the required workflows, integrations and implementation scope when evaluating other vendors.

Which Trimble product does this page compare?

The Trimble TMS lines people usually mean by TMW: TMW.Suite, TruckMate and Innovative. Where a fact applies to only one of them, the row names it. Trimble's newer cloud-native Trimble TMS is a separate product.

Does Trimble have AI agents?

Yes. Trimble Arc Agent, introduced in August 2026, is a subscription agent whose skills include order entry, contract intake and an RFQ builder; it connects to existing TMSs and to Gmail and Outlook. In September 2026 Trimble announced browser-based, agent-ready updates to TMW.Suite, TruckMate, Innovative and Fuel Dispatch. It had announced an Order Intake Agent in November 2025, first as a trial on TMW.Suite.
